Parents of the Indiana Area School District:
You are all by now probably somewhat frustrated by the sheer number of communications that have come from our district, and for that, we sincerely apologize. Unfortunately, given the current situation, we feel it is necessary to keep everyone as informed as possible during this ever-changing crisis. Throughout the duration of the shutdown, we will be doing everything we can to ensure you are aware of what is going on and that your family is connected to your students’ classroom.
To ensure that communication is as seamless and worry-free as possible, we would like to highlight a few things:
- Teachers, Counselors, and other school personnel will be calling you from their personal cell phones. In order to maintain their privacy, they may choose to block their caller I.D. If you get a few calls from a blocked number, chances are it might be one of our staff.
- Please be on the lookout for communication concerning creating your parent Powerschool Account. Powerschool is not only a student information management system but an important communication tool as well. Please follow the instructions as prompted in that communication to take the steps necessary to complete the setup of your account so that we can better communicate with you. *This will only pertain to parents who have not yet set up an account.
- If your children are having any technical issues, please fill out this form (also on our IASD website) and someone from our Technology Team will get back to you.
- If you have a question or concern with academic content, general procedural questions for your students’ classes, please contact your child’s teacher directly. A list of emails and phone numbers can be found here.
Again, we will do our best to keep the lines of communication open as the situation with the pandemic evolves and our situation changes. We thank you for your understanding, patience, and cooperation. We want you to know we are here to help you and your family through this time, and we are confident that we will get through this together, even if it is from a distance.
Respectfully,
Rob Heinrich
Director of Education
