Dear Families,
Early this morning, I was notified by the Emergency Management Center of Indiana County that the school bus used on IASD bus route 104 was experiencing some technical difficulties in which the bus was sparking. The driver immediately removed the four remaining secondary students from the bus and walked them away from the vehicle to another bus stop. Shortly after that, the bus caught fire. Emergency responders including the Fire department and police were quickly on the scene.
The driver and students were not harmed. The driver acted promptly and decisively to remove the students from the bus and emergency responders worked quickly, keeping everyone safe. I am appreciative of everyone’s actions.
