Dear Families,
Expected inclement weather is projected for our region starting this evening and into the early morning. This includes a combination of ice and snow. The National Weather Service has identified Indiana as an area to receive a “minor impact” regarding the potential storm. This means that there is “rarely a direct threat to life and property. Typically results in an inconvenience to daily life.”
As such, we are planning on operating business as usual for tomorrow. If the weather makes travel dangerous, a 2-hour delay will be the first consideration; however, if conditions worsen, the District will implement a remote instruction day. As many of you know, we have exhausted all of our snow days, and graduation has already been moved once. Our schools will send home with your child the necessary materials/Chromebooks and schedules in case we need to utilize a remote, Flexible Instruction Day (FID) for Friday, February 25, 2022.
I have not made the final decision on this as I would like to wait until further data is presented. As you know, the weather can change drastically and rapidly in western Pennsylvania. Your building principal(s) will be sure to communicate accordingly to assist you in your preparations.
